Musings on Melancholia

I recently hit a rough patch in my journey and realized that sometimes there are moments when just maintaining a serene exterior is the best I can do.  Does that make me crazy–smiling on the outside and weeping on the inside…or is the smiling actually causing my brain chemicals to think I really am feeling pleasant and so it takes the edge off my melancholy?  Rhetorical musings– however, I am writing at least. There is joy ahead.
